{"id":9036,"date":"2020-10-25T08:57:21","date_gmt":"2020-10-25T08:57:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.45aid.org\/?p=9036"},"modified":"2021-04-29T12:07:14","modified_gmt":"2021-04-29T12:07:14","slug":"richard-rosenthal","status":"publish","type":"survivors","link":"https:\/\/dev.45aid.org\/COPYLIVE\/survivors\/richard-rosenthal\/","title":{"rendered":"Richard Rosenthal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"pl-9036\"  class=\"panel-layout\" ><div id=\"pg-9036-0\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-9036-0-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-9036-0-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child\" data-index=\"0\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rosenthal was born on 1 July 1932 in\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jasina<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(modern day\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Yasina<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">in the Carpathian Mountains which was then the most easterly part of Czechoslovakia.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In 1930 there were 1,471 Jews living in\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jasina<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Rosenthal\u2019s parents had a pre-arranged marriage through religious contacts with his mum originally born in Romania and only moving to\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jasina<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0after marrying Rosenthal\u2019s dad<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, who was called\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nachmann<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(b. 1891)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. The family was relatively wealthy with\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nachmann<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0being a merchant who owned a store and some land.
