This remarkable documentary film brings together the son and grandson of Rudolf H\u00f6ss, the commandant of Auschwitz, with the cellist of Auschwitz, survivor Anita Lasker-Wallfisch and her daughter Maya.<\/p>\n

The film will be followed by a Question and Answer session with the team who made the film including the film\u2019s Director, Daniela Volker.<\/p>\n

The ’45 Aid Society will take a group of 200+ people, including some of the ‘Boys’ with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren on a momentous trip to Prague on 10th – 12th May, to recreate this iconic photo of some of the ‘Boys’, taken in Prague’s Old Town Square in August 1945. A journey to Lithuania in search of my mother\u2019s shtetl sparked my interest in getting to know the young people who live there today. Through developing a relationship with the local school, a journey which began in great trepidation has led to surprising encounters with Lithuanians and with the Lithuania of today. The story of this relationship suggests that such friendship projects can begin to heal the deep wounds which exist between Litvaks and Lithuania, with benefits for both sides.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\nJoin Ben Uri Gallery at Belsize Synagogue for a discussion with distinguished Historian and Author Jonathan Petropoulos on his new book Artists under Hitler following a private viewing of the seminal film \u2018Art and Politics in the Weimar\u2019 directed by Ron Orders.<\/p>\n

This event complements our current exhibition Refugees: The Lives of Others featuring German artists whose work was classified as \u2018degenerate\u2019 and were not permitted to practice such as Hans Feibusch and Ludwig Meidner.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

There is an experiential weekend workshop being held over 2 days which will use creative approaches including psychodrama to explore the inheritance of your family of origin, enabling a more conscious journey on your own unique path.<\/p>\n
