In 1939, after Schiff and others formed the Central British Fund, she was appointed to that organisation full-time.<\/p>\n<p>After the end of World War II, Stiebel was responsible for making travel arrangements for the children who came to be known as the Boys. She met them at the airstrip near Carlisle, was at the <a href=\"\/history\/hostels\/windermere\/\">Windermere reception centre<\/a> and organised their journeys to hostels and homes.<\/p>\n<p>In 1958, she was appointed as the UK-based Joint Secretary of the <i>World Jewish Relief <\/i>organisation, which grew out of the <a href=\"\/history\/the-boys-story\/the-cbf-and-other-organisations\/\">Central British Fund<\/a>. In 1978, she was awarded an MBE for her lifetime of service to Jewish refugees.<\/p>\n<p>She died on 25 January 2007.
