In 1939, he remained in the UK and supervised 60 children at Gwrych Castle in North Wales. This was a well-known <i>hachsharot<\/i> (agricultural training camp).<\/p>\n<p>He took charge of running <a href=\"\/history\/hostels\/millisle-hostel\/\">Millisle hostel<\/a> in Northern Ireland, replacing <a href=\"\/carers\/dr-fridolin-ginger-friedmann\/\">Dr Fridolin \u2018Ginger\u2019 Friedmann<\/a>.
