Josef and Traudel were both from Germany.<\/p>\n

They were madrichim in the Ascot hostel<\/a>. The hostel was run by Habonim, the social Zionist youth movement but the Honig\u2019s were members of Bachad.<\/p>\n

The couple also worked at Millisle hostel<\/a> in Northern Ireland. Millisle helped to look after part of the third group of the boys brought to the UK in 1946.<\/p>\n

In 1946, they took over running Manor House<\/a>, often referred to as Woodberry Down hostel. They replaced the first wardens Manfried Feiber and Tutti Feiber. That hostel was run by the religious Zionist organisation Bachad.<\/p>\n

They went to Kibbutz Lavi, Israel but later settled near Gaza. Josef was, according to the Boys who remembered him, an extremely talented musician.<\/p>\n
